Hop, hop! Freddie eats all the bugs!
Who can catch the most bugs before Freddie hops into the pond?
Frog Hop can be played in two different ways: co-operatively (with one another) or competitively (against one another).
1. Play competitively:
Freddie gives the other frogs a minute to find as many bugs as they can. Who can catch the most bugs before Freddie hops into the pond? Each player takes a frog’s tongue. Gently push Freddie down and turn him to start the 1 minute timer. In turns, players turn over a water lily token. If there’s a bug on the token, all the players need to search for the bug and the first player to find it quickly covers it with their frog’s tongue. The fastest player gets the token. The game continues until Freddie hops! The player with the most points wins the game.
2. Play co-operatively:
The fireflies head off together as a team in search of the other bugs before Freddie eats their friends. How many bugs can the fireflies save? Each player takes a firefly and positions it under the transparent sheet of the game board. The tails of the firefly will magically light up the sheet, to be able to find bugs! Gently push Freddie down and turn him to start the 1 minute timer. In turns, players turn over a water lily token. If there’s a bug on it, all the players use their firefly to search for the bug shown on the upturned token together. Once someone has found the bug shown on the token, leave it upturned as it is. Keep playing until the time is up and Freddie hops into the pond! Afterwards, the players together add up the points, to see if they have enough to win the game.
